Our Strategy
Our sustainability strategy has been developed by our dedicated ESG team.
The priorities and ambitions align as much as possible with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and their urgent call for action to deliver on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Objectives
Net zero emissions:
Achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 or earlier. This includes the gradual removal of emissions from our operations, supply chains, and transportation.
Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency:
Continuously improve energy efficiency across ouroperations while developing the use of renewable energy sources to meet energy needs.
Circularity:
Extend the lifecycle of all our buildings, equipment, and infrastructure, to ensure their optimal performance and longevity. While prioritising the utilisation of refurbished assets wherever feasible.
Water Conservation:
Reduce our overall water usage throughout our operations, minimising water waste, and preserving this valuable resource.
Community and Charity Engagement: Actively engage with local communities and contribute positively to their social, economic, and environmental wellbeing.
Employee Wellbeing:

Our progress in 2022

- We have made progress during this period in bringing down our emissions profile year on year and the increase in Scope 1 emissions last year was due to new customer activity.
- Since 2018, we have decreased our decreased our Scope 2 emissions by 37.5% and increased the % of renewable energy in our mix by 28%.
- We recognise the importance of extending the lifecycle of our assets to minimize waste and environmental impact. We implement strategies to maintain, refurbish, and upgrade our existing assets, such as our tanks to provide storage solutions for our customers instead of buying new tanks.
- At Seal Sands, one of our terminal engineers has created an apiary on the site to take advantage of the diverse plant in the surrounding locations.
- We have launched our Supplier Code of Conduct and adopted the IPIECA Library of Human Rights questions, where the risk profile requires their use.
- We have partnered with Mazars LLP as our first Sustainability auditors.
